Mark Lucas

Mark Lucas is an accomplished musician, award winning lyricist and expert percussionist. Mark was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. His father, a guitarist, was able to recognize and encourage Mark’s natural musical abilities early, allowing Mark to begin to hone his musical abilities at a young age.

In high school, Mark won multiple songwriting and musical fine arts competitions, and he was also an active member of the marching band. At 18 years old, Mark was signed to Tate Music Group to record a full-length album with his band Spero.

After high school, Mark went on to study percussion performance in college and has written for and recorded with multiple bands. During college he traveled to Redding, California to study music and work with Bethel church. While in Redding, Mark played and recorded with Jesus Culture, Jeremy Riddle and Brian Johnson.

With more than 19 years experience, Mark is an accomplished percussionist, guitarist and songwriter. Mark holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts with a concentration in Music from Jacksonville State University, and he is currently a certified D.A.D. Drum Therapist.
