Jim Lucas

Father and first guitar teacher of Mark Lucas, Jim Lucas has been playing guitar for almost forty years, beginning with classical guitar lessons as a child. A huge classic rock and folk fan, you can often hear him and his students jamming out (and singing!) to the likes of everything from Jim Croce to The Eagles.

Jim has decades of experience in radio, voice-over and acting. Having written, produced, acted in, and shot over 1000 commercials, Jim is one of the most experienced on-air personalities in the Birmingham Area. If you’ve ever listened to the radio or watched TV in the Birmingham area, you’ve almost certainly heard some of his work!

Jim graduated from Samford University with a degree in Broadcast and Marketing. After graduation, he transitioned into a role as an on-air personality for Birmingham Radio stations—doing everything from morning shows to commercials and traffic reports! After a career in radio, Jim worked with the nation’s largest automotive advertiser, Intermark Group—commonly doing voice-overs, commercial production, and on screen acting for dealerships across the nation.
