Adam Martin
Adam Martin is a senior at Birmingham Southern College where he is a Music major with a concentration in Vocal Performance and a minor in Business Administration. He is president of the Association of Music Students at BSC as well as an Orientation Leader.
Adam took piano and voice lessons through high school and college with John Mark McGaha, Director of Contemporary Worship and Arts at Trinity United Methodist Church, and has taken voice lessons and vocal pedagogy classes with Dr. Jeff Kensmoe at BSC where he learned the “ins and outs” of the voice.
Adam has been involved in music since middle school band, but he truly fell in love with music when he joined Mountain Brook High School’s choir, directed by Charles Henry. In choir, he learned that the first focus of music is to enjoy the performance itself, not the dogmatic pursuit of practice and correctness. The love of performance fuels the pursuit of practice and musical growth, not the other way around.
With this knowledge and his own love of music, it is Adam’s mission to inspire it in others, as well!
